Shrimp Scampi

Serve over vermicilli with green salad and gralic bread. |
Ingredients: |

2 tablespoons |
|
butter |
|
2 tablespoons |
|
olive oil |
|
4 large cloves |
|
garlic, minced |
|
1/4 cup |
|
parsley |
|
|
|
juice of 1/2 lemon |
|
1/2 cup |
|
dry white wine |
|
pinch |
|
of dried hot red pepper flakes |
|
1 pound |
|
large shrimp, shelled and deveined |
Directions: |

Heat the butter and oil in a heavy skillet over medium heat until the foam subsides. Add the garlic, parsley, lemon juice, wine, pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil, lower the heat and simmer for 3 minutes. Add the shrimp to the skilled and cook, stirring frequently, for 5 to 6 minutes, until the shrimp are pink. Remove from the heat. Place the shrimp on a serving plate and pour the sauce from the skillet over them. Serve immediately.
